If you’re looking for a subcompact SUV with some serious off-roading chops, you will not be looking for long because you’re instantly down to a single choice: the Jeep Renegade.

The Renegade is the least expensive model in Jeep’s lineup and is the manufacturer’s attempt to distill the authentic Jeep “freedom” into a subcompact. While it’s not perfect, the Renegade’s unmistakable Jeep styling and a broad range of features make it a solid choice in the segment.

With that said, we have something fun for owners and fans of the Jeep Renegade. Are you familiar with the Jeep Renegade Easter eggs? That’s right, many owners have found Jeep Renegade easter eggs all over social media, and we’ll highlight them today for your convenience. Let’s get to it.

The Best Jeep Renegade Easter Eggs

Believe it or not, Jeep Easter eggs first originated back in the 90s when Jeep designer Michael Santoro was hired to work on the 1997 Jeep Wrangler, aka the TJ. Easter eggs are now a staple on every Jeep model, including the Renegade.

One of the most excellent Jeep Renegade Easter Eggs is definitely the Ciao Baby! Spider, which is found etched on the fuel filler door. This Italian greeting is a callback to the folks who made the Renegade in Italy. Plus, it was co-produced with the Fiat 500X. Thankfully, it’s not a real arachnid!

The Bigfoot (via Reddit)

Everyone’s favorite cryptid simian-, ape-, or hominid-like creature also made an appearance on the Renegade’s rear windshield and is shown to climb the wiper. This happens to be Jeep’s Chief Designer, Mark Alle’s favorite Easter egg, emphasizing the brand’s connection to the great outdoors.

Jeep was never shy about paying homage to its rich World War II roots. One of the many references to the rich history of Jeep during the WWII is the X-marking the spot, specifically on the taillights and sliding sunroof. On a side note, the gas can Xs are also found on all cup holders.

THE BEST CARS FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS

Whether you’re squeezing into a tight campus parking spot or hauling ten loads of laundry back home, these best cars for college students will get you, your friends, and your stuff where you’re going.

Why the X? The same markings found on vintage gas cans carried by WWII Jeeps helped the Americans and Allied forces win the war. Easter eggs with a rich history? Sign us up!

Bright Orange Paintball-Splatter Redline (via NYDailyNews)

Another extraordinary Easter egg of the Jeep Renegade is found on the tachometer, which is a bright orange paintball splatter. The Renegade redlines at over 6500 RPM, where it touches the orange paintball splatter instead of the usual redline markings. This superb reference refers to the Renegade design team’s favorite weekend activity, paintball.

The Willys MB (via Reddit)

The Willys MB is the legendary original Jeep design, making several appearances all over the Renegade. However, the least conspicuous cameo of the Willys is on the passenger’s side windshield. From here, you can see a small silhouette of the Willys MB, the same trusty Jeep that helped America win the war. It might be a cool thing to point out if you have a WWII veteran riding with you.

Grilles Treasure Hunt

One of the most recognizable design features of Jeeps is the seven-slot grille found on all models. All over the Renegade are seemingly random places where you can find the iconic seven-slot grille, which is also a callback to the original Willys MB. Some of the places where you can find these grilles include the housing of the rearview mirror, on the wheels, and underside of the inner hatch panel. Keep an eye out for these grilles all over your Jeep.

Original Jeep on the Floor Mats

Does anyone take the time to check out their floor mats? Most don’t! Probably one of the least visible Jeep Renegade Easter eggs is the original Jeep silhouette found on the floor mat. Look under your feet, and you’ll find the Willys MB icon again because, at this point, we all know that the designers love the original.

This one’s a bit of a joke and also a safety warning. As you open the door of the Renegade, you’ll find a piece of black plastic side rails attached with the words “No Step!” We’re pretty sure it’s a joke as it references some aircraft-style designs and a safety warning because the side rails are too thin to be stepped on.

Map of Moab, Utah (via Caranddriver)

Exclusive to the top-level trim, Trailhawk, you can find the map of Moab, Utah, which is a common playground for hardcore Jeep owners. Specifically, the map is located on the loose change cubby with a rubberized lining. You probably won’t need this map for anything, but it’s another incredible Easter egg of the Renegade. Of course, you’ll find another Willys grille here as well.

8 QUESTIONS TO ASK WHEN BUYING A USED CAR

So you’re in the market for a used vehicle?  We’ve gone ahead and prepped some essential questions to ask when buying a used car.

“To New Adventures” (via HotCars)

At the push button start key fob of the Renegade, the phrase “To New Adventures!” is embossed slightly below. Of course, this is a reminder of why you got your Jeep in the first place, to go on memorable adventures on the paths less traveled (and on normal roads too). You might as well make this the Jeep owner’s motto.

Are There Differences in Easter Eggs Between Jeep Models?

Yes, while there are standard Easter eggs and design bonuses between all Jeep models, some are more specific to that model and even trim level. For instance, the Ciao Spider is exclusive to the Renegade as it references the Italian roots of the lineup. In addition, The Moab map is not only found on the Renegade, and it’s only available on the Trailhawk trim.

Have fun hunting these Easter eggs on your Jeep!
