CoPilot Launches First-Ever Car Shopping ChatGPT Plugin
New Intelligent Agent tool builds on CoPilot’s AI foundations to allow consumers to access and compare real-time vehicle listings, including model details, pricing and mileage, to better inform their decision-making process
Chicago, IL – July 13, 2023 – CoPilot, the leading AI-powered, consumer-focused car shopping app, has announced that it has launched the first-ever ChatGPT plugin for car shopping. The artificial intelligence (AI) plugin, launched in June 2023, is the first to allow ChatGPT users to view up-to-date details on any vehicle, and to access live listings based on pricing, mileage, and location. It harnesses CoPilot’s proprietary data to give users real-time information about the vehicles they are interested in - translating research on ChatGPT into action in the real world. It also makes it easy to make head-to-head comparisons between specific models, enabling users to make better-informed car buying decisions, faster than ever, amid one of the most challenging markets in history.
While ChatGPT is a great general research tool, it has not been actionable in solving one of the most painful consumer experiences: car shopping. ChatGPT users had been able to find only general information about cars (such as, for instance, examples of reputable SUV models), with nothing more recent than ChatGPT’s training window, which ended in September 2021.
With CoPilot’s new plugin consumers get the power of an intelligent agent who will find every dealer in their area, identify every matching car for sale and analyze every car leveraging exhaustive data from across the internet as well as proprietary databases. While the plugin is currently available in the Plugin store for ChatGPT Plus subscribers using GPT-4, CoPilot has also developed a free AI-powered car searching tool for its website and app. These tools use similar generative AI technology to compare and recommend cars based on detailed model-level specifications (such as fuel economy, capacity, or safety ratings).
