Shopping for a new Toyota can be pretty daunting between multiple vehicle types to trim levels to model years. If you’re looking for a reliable vehicle that offers a ton of value, it’s hard to go wrong with a Toyota. However, anyone who has shopped for cars lately has undoubtedly noticed the sheer number of options available.

Take, for example, the Toyota SUV lineup. The Toyota SUV lineup has never been this diverse, from well-equipped entry-level crossovers to heavy-duty off-roaders to all-electric vehicles. The Japanese automaker has something for everyone.

If you’re having trouble shopping for a 2022 Toyota SUV lineup, you’ve come to the right place. For today’s post, we’ll round up the complete SUV lineup by Toyota in 2023.

Toyota SUV Lineup: What’s New in 2022?

Below is the complete SUV and crossover lineup of Toyota in 2022. All the prices indicated are for the base models.

2022 Toyota Corolla Cross ($22,445)

The Toyota Corolla Cross is another strong entry by the company in the crossover segment. The 2022 Corolla Cross is a comfortable and dependable subcompact SUV with a rather unrefined performance. As the name suggests, the Corolla Cross drives on the same architecture as the classic Corolla sedan. The base model comes with a 2.0L Inline-4 Gas engine, which produces 169 horses and can be paired with a front or all-wheel drivetrain.

Available trims:

  • L
  • LE
  • XLE

2022 Toyota C-HR ($24,280)

The Toyota C-HR features an excellent curb appeal with an equally attractive interior. However, the Toyota C-HR isn’t known for its inspiring ride quality and power. It houses a 2.0 4-cylinder engine that produces 144 hp, which is lethargic at best. The C-HR’s slow acceleration and lack of power are almost masked by its responsive steering and lively handling. Plus, fuel economy is quite good as well.

Available trims:

  • XLE
  • Nightshade Edition
  • Limited

2022 Toyota RAV4 ($26,975)

The iconic Toyota subcompact is back and delivers more practicality and value to customers. The base RAV4 has an excellent price point, with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 203 hp – it could be better, but it certainly is no slouch. Exterior-wise, Toyota did a great job of updating the RAV4 with its detailed styling that just catches your attention.

In addition, the RAV4 is now available in hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants named RAV4 Prime and RAV4 Hybrid. The RAV4 Hybrid produces 219 hp with its battery pack and a rear-mounted electric motor. Meanwhile, the RAV4 Prime generates 302 hp with a 0-60 mph time of 5.7 seconds. With these many choices, the RAV4 could be your one-stop shop for subcompact SUVs.

Available trims:

  • LE
  • XLE
  • XLE Premium
  • Adventure
  • Limited
  • TRD Off-Road

2022 Toyota Venza ($33,240)

The 2022 Toyota Venza is a two-row 5-seat midsize SUV with a hybrid powertrain. It’s clearly aimed to target the space between the RAV4 and Highlander within the Toyota SUV lineup. With that said, the Toyota Venza is a solid choice for those who are looking for a hybrid SUV. With 40 city, 37 highway, and 39 combined mpg ratings, the Toyota Venza might be worth it for the top-notch fuel economy alone.

Unfortunately, the Venza leaves much to be desired regarding driving dynamics. Under the hood, the Venza has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine and three electric motors capable of 219 hp.

Available trims:

  • LE
  • XLE
  • Limited

2022 Toyota Highlander ($35,855)

The Toyota Highlander is another classic SUV that will make its return in 2022. This time, the Toyota Highlander is now available as a hybrid. The base engine is a 3.5-liter V-6 and paired with an eight-speed transmission. Plus, it has an acceleration speed of 6.7 seconds from 0-60 mph. Having said that, the 2022 Toyota Highlander is practical, comfortable, and strikingly handsome – everything you can ask for in a family SUV.

If you opt for the Highlander Hybrid ($39,555), you’ll have a tandem of 2.5-liter four-cylinder and two electric motors, which generate 243 horses and are paired with a CVT transmission.

  • LE
  • Hybrid LE
  • XLE
  • Hybrid XLE
  • XSE
  • Hybrid XLE Bronze Edition
  • Limited
  • Hybrid Limited

THE BEST SEDANS WITH HIGH GROUND CLEARANCE

There are plenty of vehicles on the market that let you tower over obstacles without losing the convenience of a compact car. Therefore, we’ve put together a list of our favorite new sedans with high ground clearance.

2022 Toyota 4Runner ($38,105)

The Toyota 4Runner is another recognizable entry from the Japanese carmaker. Unfortunately, the 4Runner hasn’t changed much since a decade ago, so if you’re looking for an exterior update, you’re out of luck. However, it remains one of the most rugged and off-road capable SUVs. Under the hood, the 4Runner has a somewhat outdated 4.0-liter V6 engine capable of 270 hp and 278 lb-ft of torque. Yes, it’s virtually the same engine of the early 2000s.

The 4Runner’s powertrain setups also show their age at the pump, with measly 16 city and 19 highway mpg ratings. Therefore, it’s not for those who want a fuel-efficient SUV. Overall, it remains a dependable and durable off-road SUV that will likely serve you for years.

Available trims:

  • SR5
  • SR5 Premium
  • TRD Sport
  • Limited

2022 Toyota Sequoia ($50,500)

The Toyota Sequoia was once one of the largest vehicles in the market. Like the 4Runner, the Sequoia hasn’t changed much over the years, and unfortunately, the competition is moving on as well. With the 2022 version, the Toyota Sequoia remains a capable seven or eight-seater with its reliable V8 engine and spacious third-row seats. Its sole engine option is the potent 381 hp V8 which has proven itself to be reliable and a workhorse, but its handling could undoubtedly be better.

The transmission is another dated aspect of the 2022 Sequoia with a six-speed box that just feels sluggish to use. Moreover, the fuel economy of the 2022 Sequoia is relatively inefficient at 13 city and 17 highway mpg ratings.

Available trims:

  • SR5
  • TRD Sport
  • Trail Special Edition
  • SR5 Premium
  • TRD Off-Road
  • TRD Off-Road Premium
  • Limited
  • TRD Pro

And that wraps up the Toyota SUV lineup for 2022. Have you made up your mind about which SUV you should get? Have fun shopping!
