When people talk about the Jeep brand, one thing that comes to mind is the iconic Wrangler SUV. However, considering its legendary reputation for off-roading prowess, one would think that Jeep would have a solid lineup of trucks by now – but it did. The Jeep Pickup (yes, that is what it’s called) was the brand’s first-ever pickup truck, and it had a 20-year run.

But with the introduction of the 2020 Gladiator, Jeep is back again with its new pickup truck offering. The Jeep Gladiator offers a unique appeal in the midsize truck segment with its convertible design and has the most off-road capable options. It’s an off-road pickup with unmistakable Jeep styling; what’s not to like?

But arguably, some of the coolest things about this truck are the Jeep Gladiator Easter eggs. These hidden details are nice little details that improve your Jeep’s cool factor. For today’s post, we go on a little hunt for Easter eggs on the Jeep Gladiator.

The Best Jeep Gladiator Easter Eggs

Like pretty much all modern Jeep models, the Gladiator has several fun Easter eggs and hidden details that are sure to delight Jeep owners. Below are the best ones we found:

Hidden Bluetooth Speaker (via TikTok)

It’s not exactly an Easter egg but more of a hidden feature that you pay for. Jeep hid something incredible behind the Gladiator’s rear seats, and it’s a wireless Bluetooth speaker contained in a docking station.

Again, it’s not an Easter egg in the purest sense of the word, but it’s, in fact, a mobile speaker that costs $295. The speaker is water-resistant and has a smart charging feature, so it’s always charged. If you have a buddy with a Gladiator with the same speaker add-on, the two of them can work in stereo. Plus, the speaker itself features the iconic seven-grille design by Jeep.

The Willys MB on the Wheels (via BusinessInsider)

The Gladiator Rubicon includes a set of 17-inch aluminum wheels. Upon closer inspection, you’ll see a little red silhouette of the Willys MB on all four wheels.

For a little history lesson, the Willys MB is a light military utility vehicle with off-road capabilities and was used by the Americans during World War II from 1941 to 1945. Basically, it’s the iconic original Jeep design and was referred to as “America’s greatest contribution to modern warfare.” Jeep loves these little callbacks to the Willys MB.

The “419” (via Reddit)

One of the coolest Jeep Gladiator Easter eggs is the detail “♥419” stamped to the left of the truck’s bed. For the uninitiated, 419 refers to Toledo, Ohio’s area code. It’s relatively significant because Toledo happens to be where Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has its 312-acre Toledo Complex factory where the Gladiators are currently built.

The Flip-flops (via JK Forum)

The flip-flops are one of the easier-to-spot Jeep Gladiator Easter eggs. Take a look at the passenger-side windshield cowl, and you’ll see an etching of a pair of flip-flops. This may seem like a random hidden detail, but it has a remarkable story.

The flip-flop etching is actually a tribute to hardcore Jeep fan and veteran car journalist Rick Péwé. Rick is known for his love for open-toed footwear and has given Jeep plenty of design and function insights. During his interview on The Fast Lane Car channel, Péwé was asked about the etching on the Jeep. Then, he showed one of his feet, donning an open-toed sandal and quickly blurting out, “Yeah, that’s why.”

The Willys MB on the Gauge Cluster (via TikTok)

@xoconniepeters I found 11 Easter Eggs on the Jeep Gladiator. Are there more? #jeepgladiator #offroad #eastereggs ♬ Pump Up The Jam - The Hit Crew

On the other, this is one hidden detail that’s quite challenging to find. Once again, the 1941 Willys Jeep makes a brief appearance on the gauge cluster if you cycle through the Trip Info screen. This Easter egg cooler is actually an image of the Army-green war Jeep rather than just an icon or silhouette. However, this nifty little Easter egg is only available in Gladiator models equipped with the Technology Package.

More Willys (via TikTok)

Look on the lower left-hand side of the windshield, and you’ll see a decal of the Willys MB Jeep that’s about to climb the glass. From our experience, this is a typically hidden detail shared by many Jeep models. Again, it’s a nice nod to the original Jeep design, and it’s also relatively hard to spot.

Steering Wheel Design

The Gladiator’s steering wheel also holds another hidden Easter egg, but it’s by far one of the most subtle nods we’ve seen. Look at the steering wheel horn button, and you’ll notice three little spokes around the Jeep logo. According to the Jeep marketing team, this design detail is a callback to the original 1941 Jeep model, equipped with a skinny, three-spoke wheel.

Topographical Map (via JK Forum)

When was the last time you checked your vehicle’s floor mats? Well, if you did it with your Gladiator, you’ll find another incredible Easter egg, a topographical map. Both floor mats (driver and passenger side) have a mini-map, but it doesn’t seem to point to an actual location. You’ll see a raised pickaxe and shovel detail on the driver’s side, while a dinosaur skull is located on the passenger side mat. Unlike many Jeep Gladiator Easter eggs, these details aren’t references to some historical tidbits. One can say that it’s a nod to the Gladiator’s propensity for adventure.

Are Easter Eggs Different Between Jeep Models?

Yes, some hidden details are different. Although numerous Jeep models share certain Easter eggs, some are unique to a specific model or trim level. For example, the 419 etching is unique to the Gladiator as it refers to its production origin. Furthermore, the Willys image on the digital cluster is only found on the Gladiator, specifically models with the Technology package.

Did you manage to find these Easter eggs on your Jeep Gladiator?
