  • Your moonroof is made out of glass so that it can break. Even though there are rare reports of moonroofs shattering for unknown reasons, it has happened. If you have one, I would not be paranoid about it, but it still can happen. 
  • If it is not something you want, do not pay for it. Because some base car models do not include a moonroof, you will most likely pay extra for it. So be sure it is not a novelty item you will use a few times than not care about. 
  • Believe it or not, a moonroof can affect your gas mileage. Having a moonroof open can affect your car’s aerodynamics because it changes its shape. When installed on larger vehicles, combined with the weight moonroofs, it can take away some of your gas milages. It does not take it down by much, but reports show that it does take away something, so it is something to consider.
