The compact crossover SUV market is not just competitive; it’s a legitimate battleground where automakers are vying to capture the hearts, minds, and wallets of discerning consumers. If you want to stand out, you must offer something unique in terms of features, performance, and value. Arguably, one of the more noteworthy members of this segment is the long-running Subaru Forester.

This popular model has garnered a loyal following due to its all-wheel-drive system, spacious interior, and reputation for safety and reliability. Drivers who love the Great Outdoors and often find themselves off the beaten path love the Subaru Forester. So, year after year, many eagerly anticipate this budget-friendly crossover SUV’s latest and greatest model.

If you’re a Subaru fan waiting for the Forester’s upcoming iteration, you’re likely wondering about its release date. For today’s post, we highlight the 2024 Subaru Forester release date and everything else you need to know.

When is the 2024 Subaru Forester Release Date?

Subaru fans who have been waiting for the newest iteration of the Forester won’t have to wait long because it will arrive at U.S. dealerships this fall. According to Subaru, the 2024 Forester will have a base price of $27,095. Suppose you expect a significant upgrade or design refresh for the 2024 Forester. In that case, you’ll be disappointed since Subaru of America announced that its massively popular compact crossover will remain largely the same with a few minor additions here and there (more on this later).

What’s New With the 2024 Subaru Forester?

Perhaps one of the most notable changes, but most customers don’t look forward to, is the increased price. Based on last year’s model, the 2024 Forester will cost about $400-$700 more than the previous model year, which isn’t the best news for a model that’s virtually the same. As such, consumers can probably get away with buying the 2023 Forester for a cheaper price. However, that can be tricky since the announcement of the 2024 Forester and the lack of major changes, people have snagged the 2023 Forester, and it sold out.

Changes in the 2024 Subaru Forester

With that said, the 2024 Subaru Forester has also received some, albeit minor, changes. For instance, a Crystal Black Silica rear spoiler and LED fog lights now grace the Forester Premium, features that are also standard on the Limited and Touring trims. In addition, The Forester Limited now boasts fancy fog light covers, which add a touch of sophistication to the SUV. Lastly, the top-of-the-line Touring model has been enhanced with new chrome wing accents on the grille, giving it a proper range-topping look.

The interior has received subtle enhancements, such as the addition of coat hooks on the grab handles on the back, and the center console trim now features faux leather with contrast stitching for the Base, Premium, and Limited versions.

Although fog lights and coat hooks probably won’t cause you to beeline to the nearest Subaru dealership, the base model seems well-equipped. The base Forester is outfitted with a range of features, including LED headlights for clear night-time visibility, remote keyless, and 17-inch steel wheels. Inside, the model is equipped with a telescoping steering column to suit any driver’s comfort, automatic climate control to maintain the perfect cabin temperature and a 4-speaker audio system for an immersive sound experience.

However, we expect most people won’t be thrilled by the 6.5-inch screen, which is tiny compared to many of the Forester’s competitors. But it does have native Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Support.

Safety-wise, the 2024 Forester offers plenty of standard safety and driver assistance features. It comes with standard EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology on all trims with features like Pre-collision Braking System, Pre-Collision Throttle Management, Lane Departure and Sway Warning, and more.
