The RAM 3500 strikes a nice balance between an advanced tow/haul machine and a superior ride thanks to a coil spring rear suspension. It and its smaller brother 3500 are the only trucks in its class to offer two gasoline engines as well as a powerful turbo diesel (the six-speed automatic transmission maximizes the torque rating for this motor.) Off-road capabilities are enhanced with an available full 4x4 drivetrain with low-range transfer case, and optional dual rear wheels help keep more traction for the really big loads. There is an array of styles, including passenger cabs that has a regular cab holding up to three people, a large four-door Crew Cab for up to six and 40.3 inches of rear leg room, and a crew cab that still can seat six (only five with an optional front bucket seats) but offers an extra three inches more leg room in the rear. It is also available in standard box (6'4") or long box (8').
